I always thought I wouldn't have time to go to the Makati City Hall and get my birth certs or CENOMAR from NSO, so I had my mom get them from Bacolod's NSO but it took months, plus the CENOMAR I got back said "For Reference Purposes" instead of "For Marriage Purposes".
So when I found myself with nothing to do last Friday after 2pm, I decided to go. I got to the NSO Office on the third floor at 330pm, and my birth certs were released (at the ground floor) at 4pm. Not so bad, eh? Am picking my CENOMAR up on the 27th of July. Again, not so bad, considering that I waited for more than 40 days for the CENOMAR when we filed it in Bacolod.
Just a tip for those taking the trip: get there late afternoon. As it is in most government offices, most people go in the morning, so the pila is unbearable. But it is a virtual ghost town in the afternoons, hehe.
So my docs are ok. Now I just need to request for the marriage banns to be read and when Daz arrives, we
1. Aug 17 -Go to Australian embassy, get his Certificate of No Marriage (15 minutes lang!)
2. still Aug 17 -go to Makati City Hall right after, attend a family planning seminar, get the certs, apply for marriage license, which we will get after 10 days
3. Aug 29 -drop off the requirements at Lipa, have him sign the form saying he agrees all our children will be Catholic (sigh), have our canonical interview with Msgr. Boongaling.
4. Sep 2-5 -Fly to Bacolod and pick up our marriage banns certificates and the certificates for attending seminar
5. Sep 6 -submit all requirements to Msgr Boongaling
6. Sep 17 - get married :D hehe
How's that, for a photo finish? :)
